Eeee!!!! I just booked the Casita de Chuparosa (Little House of Hummingbirds!) for a couple nights in early October. I'm super excited about seeing Abiquiu (pronouced Ab-i-kyoo) and Taos and all the beautiful landscapes. The owners have promised to stock the fridge with organic breakfast foods - bagels, cream cheese, waffle mix, syrup, fruits, breads, etc. during the duration of our stay. Everything in the house is handmade from a furniture company in Taos, and the artwork on the walls are by local artists. It's in the middle of nowhere with open space on all sides, which thrills me to no end. I just need to figure out what places I want to visit and what I want to do while we're there. Taos is holding their annual wool festival in the Plaza on that Saturday, so I'm definitely keen on going to that. They'll be selling wonderful yarns, and I can't miss out. Oh, pictures! The
living area, the covered
patio outside the master bedroom, the master
bedroom, the
kitchen, view from the patio at
sunset, view of
the house and stables from a distance. So exciting. Oh nature, I love you. Marilyn and Jeff (the property owners) have been so nice and helpful thus far. They even sent me a confirmation addressed to Amanda, Jason, and Ferguson. I love that the included Ferg as a guest. How cute is that?
I had the worst headache yesterday. It started creeping up the base of my skull around 4:00 in the afternoon. By 4:30, I was weak and shaky. When I got home, I felt like the right side of my head was going to explode into a billion pieces or my eye was going to pop out to relieve the pressure. I took some Advil before I laid down in the bedroom. The next thing I knew, it was 8:00 at night. Luckily, I felt much better - good enough to eat some soup and salad before going back to bed.
A friend of mine from back home sent me a care package, and it arrived today. There are candies and puzzle books with a mix CD and a t-shirt. The t-shirt says: "03687 days since the last time I gave a shit." I haven't listened to the mix CD just yet, but I'm very much looking forward to it since I'm not familiar with any of the stuff she included. I'm going to have to start collecting bits and bobs to put in her next care package.
