Where am I going on Friday? Where? To the casita!!!

Jason and I are renting a house in Abiquiu for the weekend. Abiquiu is in northern New Mexico about an hour north of Santa Fe. It's a small podunk town in the middle of beautiful, natural landscape. Georgia O'Keefe actually lived there (in Abiquiu, not in the particular house we're renting). The owners are stocking the kitchen with organic yummies for breakfast, including an awesome waffle-maker. So, the itinerary so far is we're leaving around 9:00 in the morning so we can arrive in the Abiqiui area around 11:00. I want to visit Plaza Blanca, Echo Amphiteatre, and Lake Abiquiu before we check in at 3:00. Then we can run into town and find the coffee shop and the market (which is nearly 100 years old!). On Saturday, I want to do some hiking in the early morning before we head out to Taos for the Annual Wool Festival. Yarn, yay! While in Taos, I want to visit the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, which is supposed to be amazingly beautiful. Then we can return to the casita for rest and relaxation before leaving on Sunday morning. I'm so excited because I haven't had a vacation (without family) in forever. Well, more like three years, but still...
I have maps and everything is disgustingly organized. The owners at the casita have already sent me an e-mail with directions to the house. Ferguson is coming along for the trip since everything is dog-friendly, even the Wool Festival. We're even renting a car because the fuel gauge is broken on mine. I love driving rental cars. Ack! Fun! Yay!

Have a wonderful vacation. The desert is beautiful and part of me wants to live there...the other part is emphatic about tropical beaches. :D
