I thought the wind was going to blow my little car over on my way back to the office at lunch today.
Sadly, my beautiful ivy has died. I tried to revive it, but resurrection just isn't happening. It was such a pathetic display on my desk that I (unofficially) went to the plant nursey during my trip to the IRS office this morning. 1099 forms can kiss my ass. I detest filling the suckers out. Anyway, I bought a little
madagascar palm. It's so ugly that I couldn't resist. After the impulse purchase, I looked it up on the internet and realized that it can become a
monsterous tree. I repotted it when I got back to the office, and it's stewing in the kitchen sink downstairs until the excess water can drain out of the pot. I told the girl at the nursery that I wanted it because it looked intimidating enough to sit on my desk at work. Because it is technically a cactus, it has
huge, sharp spines all over it with a tuft of green leaves coming out the top.
Speaking of plants, my
Bio Dome is working wonders on the seeds I bought. I dropped the seeds in the holes, poured some water in the bottom of the tray, and sat the lid on top. ALL of the seeds have sprouted, and they were planted just six days ago. Of course, they are tiny, but they will be staying in the Bio Dome until April. Then I'll be able to plant them on my balcony. I have some zinnias and poppies which I'll be planting in the left over spots of the Bio Dome in a few weeks. They only require two to four weeks to start. The ones that just sprouted require eight to ten weeks. If anyone is looking for any easy way to start seeds, I'd
highly recommend a Bio Dome. I really didn't have to do anything other than pour water in the tray and drop the seeds in.
Jason hosted a radio show last night, so we only got about five hours of sleep. I still feel like crap. I'll probably pass out at nine o'clock this evening.
