My Bulgari shower gel hasn’t arrived yet. I thought about prancing into Macy’s and buying it, but I felt bad about spending fifty bucks on it. So, I ordered it online at half off. It should be here sometime this week. I’ll probably have an orgasm when I use it.

I adore knitting, but it takes so long to create a large item like a blanket. Leslie, the temporary summer girl crochets. I attempted to teach myself, but I ending up throwing the yarn across the room. I asked Leslie to bring in her latest project (a baby blanket) to show me how to crochet properly. After just a few minutes of watching her, I realized what I had been doing wrong. So, this weekend I went to the craft store and bought six skeins of this beautiful blue yarn. On Leslie’s advice, I doubled it up and pulled from two skeins at once to make the blanket as thick as I wanted it to be. I started Saturday night, and I’ve put about three and a half hours of work into it so far. It’s surprisingly easy and extremely fast.

Honestly, it looks like a scarf in the picture, but I assure you it is going to be a blanket. It’s about seventy inches long and twelve inches wide. I hope to continue it until it is at least forty or fifty inches wide. All six skeins are currently in the blanket so far. I went to the craft store and bought the five remaining skeins at lunch today. I ordered thirteen more on top of those five. They won’t be in until next Wednesday, but the woman at the craft store promised to call me if they arrived early. If my math is correct, that would give me a blanket that is about six feet by four feet.

So, Leslie, Christa, and I sat in the lobby this afternoon and discussed yarn and crochet/knitting paraphernalia. Then we realized we were like little old ladies talking about the size of knitting needles and what brand of yarn is the best. To hip it up, we decided that we should start our own Knitta Please club. I believe the original is based out of New York. They’re a group of knitters who participate in drive-by knittings. They’ll all meet at a predetermined location and knit something like a band around a tree or a flag on a car antenna, or something silly like that. When they’ve finished, they will put a tag on it that says “Knitta Please” and run off into the sunset. This is absolutely fascinating to me. I want to participate. We thought we should begin by knitting bands for all the of the trees in front of the office just to see if we can confuse the man who owns the building.

In other news, I activated my account on Perfect Imagination so that writers can contact me to beta read for them. It’s been up for a couple weeks and I’ve already gotten three preliminary e-mails from authors. I’ve accepted two of them because I don’t want to overwhelm myself with too many.

Ahh, my exciting life. Shower gel, crochet, and grammar correction.

Heh. Everyone I know either knits or crochets- including me. And I'm pretty sure we're all slinking around feeling like little old ladies as if making afghans wasn't totally the Hip New Thing. It's stealth trendy!

Bulgari shower gel?! GASP. You must let me know how you like it. I've been dying to try that brand, but it's awful pricey if I wind up not liking it.

I'll let you know how it is. The only reason I bought it is because Janet Evanovich says that it's the shower gel Ranger uses in her novels. I want Ranger smell!

Coming along nicely with your blanket. I love the color and yarn type that you chose. My daughter tried knitting for a while but I guess she got bored. I wonder why you are chosing that specific shower gel? Could it have to do with a certain book you recently read. A man named Ranger?? LOL I should order some for my husband. :)

Ranger smell! Yum! It's a total waste of money to spend that much on shower gel, but I'm going to be a girl for once.
