There are certain moments in Twin Peaks when Cooper flirts with Annie that I want to swoon so hard that I fall out of my chair.

I'm sure it's a well-known fact that I've had a crush on Kyle MacLachlan since I was thirteen and saw him bring Paul Atreides to life in Dune. I remember running around our backyard and pretending I was living in the novel. Take that you vile Harkonnen! Looking back I am surprised that my parents didn't take me to a child psychologist. Thirteen-year-old girls don't usually play-act in the backyard with invisible friends who happen to be characters from a Frank Herbert science fiction novel. Do they?

The first time I saw Kyle Maclachlan it was in the Flintstones movie. The second time was in Striptease. Now that's a combo I'd like to see for $9.99 at Wal-Mart.

Doesn't he play some sort of asshole in Striptease? I should be ashamed of myself for not taking the time to watch those two gems.

He pretends to be interested in the lead character's career so he can get into her pants...which he does...in a pool. Then he becomes an asshole and she hates him and...my mind dies shortly after that when I realize I'm intently watching "Striptease".

If you're a real fan you'd not watch this movie.

no you are not odd for that... b/c i did the same thing. i loved dune as a teenager! but i loved the book more than the movie. the movie had a few key elements severely wrong and it angered me about the ending of it. (and the fact that the actor was too old for part, but that is just me nitpicking)

i still can't believe i'm marrying a guy who hasn't seen Dune before... at least I made him watch Bladerunner a few years ago.
