I'm semi-obsessed with the guy that works at Bagel Jo's. I think he owns the place or is at least co-owner. Anyway, he is such a random, quirky person that I look forward to going in there for a bagel once every other week or so. It's like an adventure - what memorable thing will happen while I'm waiting for my bagel with cream cheese? He sang "Rock Me Amadanish" for me today. The other woman waiting on customers was asked for a danish by another customer. He was making my lemonade (fresh squeezed, of course) and started singing "Rock Me Amadeus", but replaced "...deus" with "...danish". And because I'm such a spastic dork, it thrilled me. We spent the next five minutes chatting about old '80s songs and random trivia associated with them - like the "Rock Me Amadeus" guy was German. I enjoy people like that. People that march to their own odd little beat. I encounter so many drab, boring, uninspired people with bland senses of humor that it's a treat when I meet someone with a bit a quirk. And I go out of my way to fill my world with characters, oddballs.
It rained. I nearly ran outside and danced in it. My happiness over the moisture and the fresh smell of wet soil drove me to take the long walk around the courtyard this morning to get my mail. It also promoted me to take some pictures.
Rain on my windshield. One of my most favorite of sights.

The clouds gathering at and coming over the mountains.

One of the buildings in my complex. The sky is slowly, but surely being taken over my clouds.

I borrowed (read: stole) Lisa Loeb's Hello Lisa from KUNM because I'm self-centered and I don't think anyone that volunteers there can appreciate it as much as I can. I doubt the thing ever got pulled from the stacks for much airplay at all. I liberated the Buffy: The Musical album from there as well. I'll provide a much nicer home for it than KUMN ever could.
