I'm not mad enough to go to the midnight release party for the Coheed and Cambria CD, but I am mad enough to take my lunch at 9am so I can go to the record store as soon as it opens. I've only listened to it once completely, but my first impression is that I adore it.

Despite my aversion to the armpit that is Hot Topic, I may lower myself to setting foot inside if just for a moment. They're selling the graphic novel - the one I don't have and that goes along with this latest album. I'll just slap a sticker on my shirt that says, "I swear I'm not a poser, I'm just in here to buy the Coheed graphic novel." The atmosphere of that store makes me want to vomit. The whole, "Look at me, look at me, I'm edgy!" thing doesn't sit well with me. There's just no dignity in it, no cool factor.

Whatever. I'm getting the damn graphic novel one way or another. My lunch hour is open tomorrow. It'd be the perfect time.

And to celebrate the release of Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV - Volume One: From Fear through the Eyes of Madness, I'll use my keywork avatar.

They have a graphic novel? Cool. Sounds like you have your life in order and the important things taken care of!

You make me think I should check out Coheed again...I listened to part of the previous CD once and was intrigued but not enough to buy it (probably I was already overloaded with other items, as usual).

Your gut response to Hot Topic: bless you, child. For hipster-wannabes who are too lazy (or too suburban?) to shop the real stores. As you know :)

However! No need to over-apologize for going to HT. (See: The Onion, "Local Hipster Over-Explains Visit to Mall.")

You hate Hot Topic that much, huh? *snicker* Aww come on Amanda, they're not that bad. I have a friend of mine that adores Hot Topic. I rarely ever go there myself. I love them and hate them at the same time, if that makes any sense. Love it because of some of the stuff they have and hate because of the way that it shamelessly markets off the Goth subculture, and it's a magnet for the wannabes and the "posers", like you said. I really don't care either way. I had a friend that worked there once that said that they should switch their logo from "It's all about the music" to "It's all about the money." I find it hilarious that you called it an armpit for some reason. Don't ask me why. Awww, whatever. Got to go, Amanda! See you around! *waves*

Hot Topic makes me sad because they market some of my bands (::hugs bands::) to people who cannot enjoy them as they should be enjoyed. Plus, they didn't have my graphic novel that I was searching for.
