I rented Ghost World (which I've already seen) because I felt the need for something familiar that includes Steve Buscemi. Oh, and because in the movie his character says, "You think it's healthy to obsessively collect things? You can't relate to other people, so you fill your life with stuff... I'm just like all these other collector losers." And I like that quote.

My mind spends the majority of the day making connections between my interests. My mental process is like a chain. A seed of thought begins and before I'm aware of it, it has dominoed into something else. Because I rented Ghost World, I pulled out Aimee Mann's Bachelor No. 2. It contains a song called "Ghost World". I still stand firm that it is my favorite album of hers. It's very cohesive and has a complete lack of pretention - just down-to-earth emotional trials and a melancholy mood that rides over all the tracks. One of my most favorite female lyricists.

'Cause I'm just a problem for you to solve and watch dissolve in the heat of your charm. but what will you do when you run it through and you can't get me back on the farm? So, don't work your stuff because I've got troubles enough. No, don't pick on me when one act of kindness could be deathly. - "Deathly"

I'd forgotten that quote! I like it, even if I do my damnedest to prove it wrong.

And Aimee, right on. That song is also on the Magnolia soundtrack. Delicious sadness.

Have I mentioned that I love your blogging style? I find it very impressive that you update every single day, and doubly so that your entries are always worth reading even when they are often very short. They always contain some little nugget that makes them worthwhile.
Unfortunately I always feel the need to have great overarching grandes idées at the core of everything I put up here. As a result I'm lucky if I blog once a fortnight.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you! I adore compliments. ;-) If I don't make an effort to update it reasonably often, then I'll forget about it. Plus, it's a nice way to release a bit of steam (be it good or bad).
