Ferguson is a very well-behaved dog. He is not food/toy-aggressive with anyone. He has never tried to bite anyone, even little children who grab him. However, Jason likes to play with and tease him, acting like he's the other dog in the house. So, Jason has taken to acting as if he's going to eat Ferguson's bones. Ferguson then gets pissed and attempts to attack Jason. I filmed it for my own enjoyment, but thought I'd post it on here because my sweet little dog looks so mean and ferocious.

That is HILARIOUS. Is Jason at any risk for a nip if he doesn't duck out of the way fast enough? Or is Fergus just posturing? (BTW, love the name Fergus.)

That's mostly just posturing. If he gets a hand or nose in his mouth, he usually just nibbles it. He's all ferocious and then he gets hold of someone and licks them. However, he did bite Jason's ear one time. Didn't break the skin, but Jason whined like a baby.

I had to watch that twice. I love how Ferguson looks angry until Jason touches his head, then Ferguson sticks his tongue out like he's happy. And then he goes back to Cujo when Jason goes toward the bone.

Ferguson is a huge weenie when it comes to backing up the growl with a bite. Even when he snaps, he keeps his mouth open so it turns into a nibble. It's like a game to him--who wants the bone more. This behavior is actually what got him in trouble with his previous owner. They had a larger dog, and it attacked him. He was nearly euthanized for his injuries, but a rescue took him in. I adopted him from them.

I'd be too worried that Ferg was going to really bite Jason! But he backs off so quickly when Jason nudges his head. That's really cute.

He's too much a weenie to actually bite. He'll come at Jason with snarls and an open mouth, but when he actually gets a hand or finger into his mouth, he nibbles and licks. He does look like he's going to attack, though. It's all posturing and bluff.
