I haven't had an instant messenging service on my computer for years, so I don't know what got into me last night, but I downloaded Trillian. If you're bored and so inclined, you can contact me with any of the following services. If I don't respond back immediately, it's because I'm trying to figure out how to work this new technology. If you have an account with any of the services and aren't opposed to being internet-stalked by me (I kid, I kid), leave your username(s) as a comment so my contact list on Trillian isn't so pathetic and empty.

I talked Jason into renting Appaloosa because I have a thing for neo-westerns. I'm sure it all started with Deadwood and was exacerbated by The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and Seraphim Falls. Okay, so I watched Seraphim Falls for Liam Neeson's hotness, but I can hardly be blamed for that. I mean, look at him. Oh, all right. Fine. So I might be watching Appaloosa for the eyecandy, too. I mean, I'm still in love with Viggo Mortensen after seeing him in Eastern Promises. The Russian accent? The badassness and danger? The tattoos and intrigue? Plus, he looks ridiculously good in sunglasses.

have you seen the trailer for Viggo's new movie. It's called Good. and just in case him being in it is not enough. Jason Isaacs plays the other main character *swoon* what more could you ask for. lol. How was Appaloosa, worth watching?

How was Appaloosa? The cast looked fantastic (Ed Harris, Jeremy Irons, and Viggo Mortensen? sign me up!). But I'm curious if it's a total tragedy or if it has redeeming themes.

It was good. I wouldn't say it is a favorite of mine, but part of that is for personal reasons, not concrete 'it-was-a-bad-movie' reasons. The pacing was a bit odd with many climaxes; the final climax kind of sneaked up on me at the end of the movie. It was a bit off kilter because I was thrown off by the earlier ones. I usually say with most movie that it could have been shorter; and this one could have been shaved by about 20 minutes or so.

Viggo's character is lovely. And Jeremy Iron's character is dastardly and evil. I liked Ed Harris' character during the first half of the film, but grew to be annoyed by him in the second half because of his attachment to another character I disliked greatly.

All in all, it was a good movie. Not something I'd put on my favorites list, but something I'm glad I watched.

I mostly use the chat on gmail. I still have my yahoo account, though. But that's not what you meant, right? Sorry, I'm totally illiterate when it comes to these things.

Apropos illiterate: the title in the chapter I sent you is misspelled. *cringes* And I didn't notice until yesterday *cringes again*

So is Appaloosa good? I've been meaning to watch it, but I want to rent Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist first.

EDIT: I read your post above about Appaloosa. I like westerns very much, but they can be a tad long.
