I need super awesome workout music for the exercising. I don't care how awful or cheesy or embarrassing the songs/bands might be, I'm open to all suggestions. Because I totally have some eyebrow-raising stuff on my iPod that you all would probably disapprove of. The only caveat is that I'm not a huge fan of dancehall, techno, house, etc. Nothing too repetitive and pounding.

This is brought to you by the Amanda-Finally-Got-Up-Off-Her-Ass coalition. After well over a week of sitting around the apartment bemoaning the fact that I cannot go jogging or walking after work due to the lack of sun and warmth, I finally managed to trot over to the fitness center in the clubhouse. It's only a building away, and I've run out of excuses for not going over there and making myself feel better. Apparently, everyone eats dinner later than I do (i.e. after 5:45) because when I went in there at 6:00, the place was empty. I had eight wonderful pieces of equipment all to myself. After busting my ass on the elliptical for fifteen minutes, I hopped over the treadmill and turned it up to a brisk pace (4.5 mph) for a couple miles. The stationary bike display was blinking at me and saying, "Please ride me," but I did not ride it.

Unfortunately, I forgot my iPod, so boredom set in pretty quickly. I'm going back tomorrow, armed with my iPod. Tell me what I need to add to my workout playlist on the Notorious P.O.D.

I listen to my favorite radio station! I like variety and don't listen to the same stuff over and over. I just shuffle through my ipod if I'm using that. But good for you!

I have a favorite morning show that I listen to sometimes on my way to work, but by the time evening rolls around, I get frustrated with the lack of choice around here when it comes to the radio. I'd love an indie station, but the college station in Albuquerque is controlled by old hippies that only like to listen to NPR news or folk music.

Avenged Sevenfold's City of Evil album. I'm not even that big on metal (I have a lot of it on my iPod, but I really have to be in a certain mood to listen to it) but I've found that album sets exactly the right pace when I'm at the gym.

The soundtrack to Little Shop of Horrors has long been my workout music of choice, but I suspect that I might be kind of a freak.

Music to get you moving:

Beatles - Hard Day's Night, Help
80's Hair Bands (Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, etc.) ususally a best of album
Hewy Lewis - almost any album will do
Soundtrack to Hairspray
Soundtrack to Riverdance
Soundtrack to Rent
Soundtrack to The Commitments
The Nylons - almost any album of theirs will have a good vibe

Hope that helps and isn't too off the walls cheesy.

How about the soundtrack to Run, Lola, Run? The whole movie is about running. Really motivates me!
