I think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever. If you've never seen Hedwig and the Angry Inch, I highly recommend it.

Isn't Hedwig and the Angry Inch a porno? I know I've heard of it. I may have to look it up.

No, it isn't a porno. I think you'd really enjoy it, actually. It follows the story of a man born in Germany who is a transsexual. To be with the American soldier who he has fallen in love with, he has an operation to remove his penis. Physical exams are necessary to get married, and therefore leave the country with his boyfriend. This is where the title of the movie comes in. His sex change operation doesn't go very well, and he's left with a one-inch stump of flesh where his penis used to be. After moving to America, his relationship crumbles and he ends up traveling with a band of misfits, performing rock songs that he has written.

The entire movie is beautiful and witty and funny and has a great deal of heart. It's one of my favorites, and it just gets better with time. The next time you're in the video store, check it out. I really do think you'd appreciate it, and I'm sure you'd also get quite a few laughs out of it, too.
