I'm so glad we're going out of town tomorrow. Today has been a slice of hell at work. My neck and shoulders are so tense, I feel like I can't move my arms.
I was cruising the internet a few days ago and saw a handwriting meme. I think some of you have seen my handwriting before, and I've seen a few of yours, but I thought it would be neat if anyone wants to participate.
1.) Get a piece of paper and a pen.
2.) Write a pangram in your language. Sign your paper with your first name or your nickname (not your signature).
3.) Take a picture/scan.
4.) Post it on your blog!
I scanned mine, and it is rather large. My attempts at reducing the size only muddled the scan. So, you can find my handwriting sample right over here.
And another meme!

captain_tulip gaveth me the letter M.

Mulder was the first character I really fell in love with. I was a youngin' (twelve-ish?) when The X-Files premiered on television. My dad and I started watching it together, and it became our bonding time. From the get-go, I adore him and sympathized with him and pined away from him in my room with angsty teenage fantasies of accompanying he and Scully on assignments across the country. Despite my complete adoration of him, I still could never imagine Mulder and I together. Mulder was meant for Scully. I worshiped their relationship, even if it was just a very strong friendship in the beginning. And, in hindsight, it mapped out the blueprint for my favorite type of relationship: friends/co-workers turned lovers.
Mary Malone and I aren't exactly alike; there are many difference between the two of us. However, she is the character I identify with the most. No other book, movie, or television series has provided another character I can more closely relate to than Mary. Part of me wants to tell you how unique she is, but she's not really all that unique. She's just wonderful and passionate and intellectual and willing to learn and accept.
Her marzipan story near the end of the trilogy is one of my favorite moments in any novel, ever. You can read it right here in my journal. Even now reading it makes my heart beat harder and faster.

Oh, Garibaldi, if only you hadn't been tricked and manipulated into being a traitor in the later part of the series. I still love you, though. He was my favorite character on the space station, even more than G'Kar (who I considered alien sex with). Plus, Garibaldi's ass looked extremely nice in the security personnel uniforms he had to wear in the first few seasons. Woo, boy.

Ghost in the Shell (the film) was my first dip into the anime waters. I immediately took to the subject matter, the style, the tone, and the characters. It wasn't something silly like the late afternoon anime on the Cartoon Network; it was serious and adult. And the Major (Motoko) was glorious as the no-nonsense leader of an elite team of operatives. Beyond that, her relationship with Batou capture my imagination. Of course, this all goes back to Mulder/Scully because Batou and Motoko work together. Actually, he is her second-in-command. My only grievance with Motoko is that she was so cold toward Batou when it was quite obvious he adored her inside and out. Oh, the angst.

Easily my favorite character on Firefly, and that's really saying something since I love all of those characters. His sense of humor, badass-ness, and caring for his crew make him extremely likeable, so I couldn't help but fall for him. Plus, hello: tight pants. It only pains me that there are not more episodes. Oh, and Inara was never good enough for him.
