I was checking the news before going to bed and saw this article on CCN's website...

Bus Passenger Beheaded Seat Mate

I don't know why, but I found the article to be extremely disturbing. Well, I do know why, but I'm usually not terribly bothered by these sorts of stories since they're plastered on the news every single day. This one just really got to me, made me extremely uneasy, gave me (bad) goosebumps. Just the circumstances and the fact that the attacker proceeded to cut off this young man's head while warding the other passengers away with a butcher knife. God, that's so effing creepy. I don't want to go to bed because I suspect I'll have nightmares about it.

I am also not bothered by the usual stories that run through the daily grind, but this one stopped me. I had the same reaction, but it's possibly because I once took a Greyhound 1500 miles across the US, and I can't imagine waking up to find a knife lodged in my chest. Ugh.

I can't agree more. I think it was the whole normalcy of the circumstance, at least before it went insane. Who hasn't traveled with a bunch of strangers on a bus, plane, whatever? And all you can do is trust that they are as sane as you are. This was just so...gruesome and RANDOM. Like he just picked that poor soul out of a hat to kill.
