My mother found my MySpace. o_O I got one a couple years ago because it was the easiest way to communicate with a friend of mine from back home. I didn't put any effort into it at first, but then I started finding old friends from my high school days, and I got sucked into creating a decent profile and uploading some pictures. It's been nice to talk to people I haven't seen in years. Anyway, my mother knew I had a MySpace because a few other family members had found it and friended me - cousins (hers and mine) and the like. This evening, I got a message that 'Kim' had sent a friend request. I immediately thought it was the boss's daughter who works with us now. I clicked on the profile and found my mother. So, now I'm friends with my mother on MySpace. I had to go through my profile and my minimal blog on there to make sure I didn't need to remove any incriminating evidence of my deviant behavior. Oddly enough, there wasn't anything that needed to be removed. (All of that stuff is on this LJ, no doubt.) On the other hand, I think it's neat for her to be able to see into this side of my life. I've never been very open with my mother about my interests just because she doesn't share them. She's not really opposed to them; she just doesn't seem understand them all that well. Her favorite movies all involve Martin Lawrence, for crap's sake. Plus, it will be a nice way for her to keep in contact with other family members. I left her a comment on her page, but I'm still a bit weirded out.

Jason and I just watched the tenth episode (Master of Monster) of Hellsing, the anime series. How can anyone watch that and not 'ship the hell out of Alucard/Integra. Just the thought of it makes me swoon. The bit in the dungeon when he is released from captivity by her and ends up taking a bullet in his arm to save her from her uncle? And then she uses his arm to steady hers as she aims her gun at her uncle to shoot him? Gah. My idea of romance is so twisted.

In related news, I'm going to publicly admit to my severe love of Eric from Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire novels. So, my problem isn't with vampires; it's just with Bill. Alcide has also grown on me in this third novel. I didn't think I'd like him all that much at first, but I can't help it. He's charmed me.

I started reading Henry Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson because it came highly recommended. It's so ridiculously good, and now I'm even more disgusted with our government and the collective idiocy of nearly every single elected official in Washington. I want to make them all sit down and read this book. If they can read, that is.

OH, yes, yes, yes....i didn't want to take any chances with spoilers or anything of the like when i agreed that i just didn't like Bill...he bugged me...and say...but OMGosh....Eric is just plain HOT!! Yep...i got a thing for Eric too.

And dear....your idea of romance is far from twisted...take it from someone who is pretty sure her idea of romance is probably twisted for sure...lol.

I think I've seen more Alucard/Seras fic than ones with Integra. It's frustrating because I like Integra so much more.

Nah, there's much more A/I, look for old fic, besides the quality of writing of A/S fic? Terrible the 80% of the time.

Sorry that your mom found your myspace acct :( My twenty-something kids and I respectfully avoid one another's LJ-MySpace-FaceBook accounts.

Yay!

Yes... A/S shippers are in big time denial.

Master of the Monster should let in clear in who Anime!Alucard is interested on:

Young Integra. His "Wendy."

In his eyes, she never grew up, she's still the same little girl. Saying this doesn't mean is platonic, he was sexually aroused by her. Studio Gonzo said the reason why Alucard turned Seras in the anime? Her eyes reminded her to Young Integra's. Alucard's obsessed with 13-years-old Integra. Re-watch episode 1, you can see some parallels.

I didn't know that tidbit from Studio Gonzo. Very interesting! I'm going to have to go back and watch the first episode to catch that after having watched the entire series. I'm doing little happy dance because my boyfriend didn't think he'd like the series, but he actually loves it. Who's always right? Me. I haven't seen any of the OVA, but we're going to watch that next.

I would skip OVA in favor of the Manga, though this small Pip/Seras (http://www.shareapic.net/content.php?id=6525565&owner=nkaze) added scene is worth it for volume 4.

I've read the first two volumes of the manga, and I have the others - actually bought the sixth today. I've been trying to drag it out to make it last. I watched the first nine episodes of the anime over the space of a few weeks several months back. I stopped watching because I wanted to be surprised when I watched the last few episodes with the boyfriend. I love delaying gratification, I think.

Hah! I see. Well, my suggestion is read the manga before watching the OVA. OVA is good for animated fights and that is all.

As you can see by the two volumes, its a bit different from the Anime. Alucard to Seras...is like a harsh dad and he's like knight in shining armor/bitchboy to Integra since day one. The change in their meeting makes for a different direction in the future.

I'll definitely do that, then. I actually wobbled back and forth on whether we should watch the OVA at all, considering the up-in-the-air status of the US release of it. Or at least I think it's still up-in-the-air. Despite my love of delaying gratification, I like having the option, having access to it if I want it instead of waiting for a distributor here to pick it up.

I don't like the OVA too much, so my opinion is biased. I did fall in love with OVA!Pip (though I crushed on him since the Manga), but the others left me cold.

I know the myspace thing well. First my brother asked me to make him one... He's one of the party boys and was friends with all of the 'cool party kids' of my graduating class. It was awkward because they didn't realize he was my brother until after his myspace. Then they would see me at school or out and be like 'Hey! How's Bran?' It was incredibly annoying.. Then to make matters worse my mom got one not long after.. I also had to run a check of mine to see if anything 'bad' was on it. She religiously checks hers everyday and reads mine and all the comments. lol. She was even hurt when I hadn't mentioned what a great mother I had. haha. She's crazy.

My LJ is my refuge. No one I know in real life knows about it, and my real name isn't attached to my LJ, so they can't find it. At least I hope they can't. My MySpace is much safer and sanitized - no bitching about work or family on it.
