Crisis Averted

My computer is fixed! The very nice man who fixed it for my only charged $67. I picked it up on my way home from work. I've even given it a hug. Tomorrow, I'm backing my files up so I don't have another heart attack if it dies. He told me my hard drive is slowly dying and suggested I start looking into getting another computer. I'm still on the fence about getting a Mac. I dunno, I dunno. However, I do know I am going to have a new computer by the end of March. Mark my words...

For those who are Mac users... How difficult was it to switch from a PC? Were you able to convert all of your files fairly easily?

I'm still deciding if I want a desktop or a laptop.

Since Apple have switched to the same hardware technology as regular PCs I would just buy a very high quality PC. You will still have change left over from a lower spec Mac and it will be just as reliable.
