I love Richard Armitage. Really, I do. A few days ago, several of his long-standing fansites were sent a note from a spokesperson of Richard's. The note said that he would no longer be communicating directly with fans through the fansites by sending messages to them about his goings-on or thank you notes for gifts. He had always done this before because he's a wonderful fellow, but the spokesperson claimed that Richard was far too busy to be communicating with fans in such a way and that too many fansites had cropped up to allow him to contact all of them without showing favoritism. So, all the fans were sad because it was nice to have that personal connection with him through an unofficial site.
A couple days later, the fansites started receiving notes "from multiple sources". The largest fansite (thearmitagearmy.com) posted these notes under a special section called "The Grapevine". Everyone believes, and I am fairly sure, that this is Richard's undercover way of keeping in contact with everyone. His sense of humor cracks me up, especially the commentary about RA's atrocious grammar (with grammar mistakes galore in the paragraph) and discussion of RA's alleged "intelligence inferiority disorder."
How can you not love an actor who gives the fans some virtual winks? And how can you not love a guy who looks like this? Plus, John Thornton, anyone? Gah. I swoon at the thought of him in a cravat.
