The stress level at work is high. If anyone knows an experienced construction project manager in Albuquerque, send them to me. I'll give them a job. I need to find one before they chop the current one's head off.
Thankfully Jason has some sort of sixth sense as to my sucky days and he called my cell at 3:00 this afternoon to ask me if I wanted to go out to dinner and stop by a record store downtown. Therapy in the form of a monster baked potato with broccoli, a new Yo La Tengo CD, and some good conversation about fanfiction.
Oh, a song for you... Somebody's Baby by Yo La Tengo.
^^^ That song has been haunting me for the last few days. I heard it on my internet radio station last week and made a mental note to go hunting for it. I found myself in the grocery store on Saturday night taking a leisurely stroll through the aisles on my weekly shopping expedition and the original version of the song was playing over the store speakers. My presence in the grocery store at 8pm on a Saturday night involves a long story ending in my being a bit depressed. Anyway, I felt much better when I heart "Somebody's Baby" on the intercom. It was followed by Brooklyn Bridge's "The Worst That Could Happen" and then by Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way". Needless to say, the songs cheered me up a great deal. I left much happier than I went in, even if I did spend nearly $70 on food items that I probably didn't need.
