I finished watching the remainder of the Ghost in the Shell (series/movies). I highly recommend it to anyone with a brain and the desire to use it. The series itself was so tight that missing an episode or zoning out for a few minutes will throw you into the land of I-have-no-idea-what-is-going-on. Beyond that, I have a crush on Batou. It's the tortured, unrequited love thing that he's got going on. I'm a sucker.

We started watching Deadwood last night. So far, I love it. They all have potty mouths! Yay! I've never heard the word 'cocksucker' used so many times in a mere fifty-seven minutes. Plus, Calamity Jane is so badass that I'm jealous.

Saturday morning was spent at the used bookstore. Unfortunately, they didn't have everything I wanted, and I splurged at Borders. I always say I'm not going to buy anything else from Borders, but I'm a weak, weak person. I found Coraline by Neil Gaiman as the used bookstore, and I finished it on Saturday night. It was a childrens book; I'm not that speedy of a reader. It was quite satisfying, though. Very creepy and odd. If I were seven, I'd be completely freaked out. I also got Gaiman's Neverwhere, which I'm nearly halfway finished with. It's very good, and I look forward to seeing the BBC mini of it once I'm finished reading. And, seeing as how I'm on a Neil Gaiman kick, I bought Interworld as well.

I'm nearly finished with Alan Moore's V for Vendetta. It is so disgustingly good that I can't stand it. Most of the ways in which it differs from the movie actually make the graphic novel better. Although, I do like movie!Finch a bit more. How can I deny the wonderfulness that is Stephen Rea?

Has anyone had any experience with pet health insurance? I was looking at a couple difference companies to see if it would be beneficial to pay the monthly or yearly fee to cover Ferguson. There is so much legal mumbo-jumbo and details on what they cover and exactly how much they will cover that I feel like throwing my hands up. Is it really worth it?

I am going to STRANGLE the receptionist if she doesn't stop calling me. Seriously. I've never met a more clingy and needy person in my entire life.

Someone else on a Neil Gaiman kick! Yeah!

I read Good Omens over the weekend, and finally managed to track dowm my copy of Stardust. I've heard that they're making a Coraline movie, but I don't know much about it. There's a BBC mini for Neverwhere?

As to pet insurance, I have no experience with it, but if you do decide to go for it I'd be interested in knowing how it helps out.

Yes, there is a BBC mini of Neverwhere. I think it was done by Neil before he actually wrote (released?) the novel. However, I've heard from nearly everyone who has seen it that the production is quite crappy. Apparently, the BBC pulled a great deal of funding from the project after they were in the thick of things. People still love it, but most were disappointed by the production. It's available as a two-disc set on Amazon and probably every other place that sells DVDs. I'm renting it from Netflix first just to see if I like it, though.

I've heard that Coraline will be turned into a movie as well. Neil posted a blurb in his blog a few days ago that said he had received some music that will be in the movie. I took it to be like a musical because he wrote some of the lyrics that the Misses downstairs sing when Coraline meets them.
