The beginning of my series of album covers I love. I'm talking album covers that I think are a work of art. Album covers I would display on my walls and treat like a painting by Van Gogh. The band or my opinion of the music within doesn't hold much weight here...I'm just going with my thoughts on the artwork or photo. The first...

Cool choice...but damn, don't get me started. I immediately wanted to pull my old albums out and start suggesting ;)

OK...well for starters, check out Peter Gabriel's "Up." Not just for the cover photo, but also for those on the inside - there are astounding photos for every one of the song titles :)

Ahh, now I remember seeing that. It's a very cool album cover. Even though it seems simple, I pulled up a picture and stared at it for a good five minutes.

I had that CD for 2 years before I saw that not only is his face in the droplets, but also very, very out of focus in the background.

Want a creepy prog rock one? Check out "Nursery Cryme" by Genesis.

Yeah, decapi-crocket always works for me. If you liked that, check out their next album, Foxtrot, especially if you can find the version that shows both front and back covers - it incorporates the entire Nursery Cryme cover into a larger painting.

oh they always have good album covers. Their liner notes are usually pretty awesome too.

Hey! Bladerunner quote that makes me shiver!: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."

Ooooh...yes, I was thinking it was that quote. That moment was just so intense. Plus, Rutger Hauer rules and he pulled it off quite well.

Right on! That was the one I thought of too - they include it on the soundtrack, and although I'm not so hot about blending dialgoue with music on soundtracks, in that case I thought it was perfect.

it's really just that last part. Like tears in rain, time to die.

God I love that movie.

I'm *so* with you. The way he says it: "Like tears...in...rain." Superb.
