Go to IMDB.com and look up ten of your favorite films or TV shows.
Post three official IMDB "Plot Keywords" for these ten picks.
Have your friends guess the show names, movie titles.

And because I can't follow the rules, I picked ten movies and five television shows. I made an effort to pick movies and television shows that are reasonably well-known (except for a few I just couldn't resist). I also tried to pick the best keywords I could, not just the most interesting.

Movies:
[1] blind, falsely accused, musical
[2] midlife crisis, satire, plastic bag
[3] pianist, orphan, ocean liner
[4] death of wife, space station, love
[5] dystopic future, freedom fighter, terrorist
[6] murderer duo, lake, breaking the fourth wall
[7] fictional band, ireland, based on novel
[8] suicide, father daughter relationship, madness
[9] berlin wall, transgender, rock star
[10] teen movie, feminist, william shakespeare

Televison:
[11] space station, political oppression, alien technology
[12] smuggling, space western, anti-hero
[13] romantic tension, supernatural, basement office
[14] undead, chosen one, librarian
[15] serial killer, psychology, federal agent

Yes, it is. Sometimes the space station shows sound the same when you just get to use keywords.

I'm beginning to think we have similar taste in movies/tv (at least the more mainstream stuff)...

From: [identity profile] anogete.livejournal.com

We probably do. Several of the movies I listed are foreign movies, so that may explain why they aren't ringing a bell with your right away. I have this obession with searching out movies that no one has ever heard of. It's like digging around in a pile of muck and finding a diamond that no one ever knew about. However, I tried to keep the really obscure ones off my list, no matter how much I liked them.

You have them all correct, except:

Number three isn't Titanic because I'm the only chick in the world who thinks that movie is a piece of crap. Number six isn't The Blair Witch Project because it was just plain silly. Number eleven isn't Battlestar Galactica because I've never seen a complete episode of that particular show before, however I am interested in catching up on it via DVD rentals. And, number fifteen isn't Twin Peaks, even though I sincerely loved that show more than most (all?) of the shows currently being aired on television. You've scored a respectable 7/11. You know, like the store. I doubt anyone will perform any better due to my penchant for foreign films and musicals.

The Legend of 1900? I'm so happy to hear that someone else has seen that movie. I happened upon it by accident and loved every minute of it.

I was going by the translation for the name. :P

Same here, I found it in the video store and thought, "Okay, I'll give this a try." And for once it worked.
