I have NO motivation to do any form of work or anything resembling work. I've been sitting here reading album reviews and sampling everything David Bowie has ever recorded. I'm at a loss as to where to start, but I might as well jump in and get my feet wet somewhere. Diamond Dogs is delicious. I'm kicking myself for forgetting Outside at home today. I'm craving it. It's been too long since I've listened to it. I've ordered four of his albums on Amazon Marketplace. My next taste of him will be the album that gets here first.

I swear I can't stop spending money. It is like some disease. I bought an FM transmitter for my iPod so I could listen to it in the car. Payroll girl has gotten the same thing for hers and plans on using Napster to buy all of her music. That makes me uncomfortable. I can't be without the beautiful artwork and track listings. I'll forever be one of those people who can't go completely digital without a hard copy. I need CDs with inserts and artwork.

What else can I say to avoid work? My mind is blank. Oh, I watched Mirrormask on [livejournal.com profile] blinkilite's suggestion. It was excellent and I highly recommend it to my flist. Neil Gaiman does Labyrinth-ish movie. Need I say more? I thought not. We're nearly finished with Twin Peaks. About nine more episodes and I'll be hunting down the Babylon 5 DVDs for my consumption. I've heard excellent things, so I'm looking forward to this a great deal.

Let's see...what else can I say? Woody Allen is adorable even with the icky hair he had in Sleeper. The movie was a bit silly, but it worked and made me laugh.

I've been watching American Idol lately. Most everyone is boring. I can't keep them straight and I'm not even sure why I'm watching it. Probably because I like Simon and he reads my mind since he's oh-so-psychic. I do like hearing which songs each contestant chooses. It's like a small slice of their personality. As much as I deny that I'm a people person, I find people fascinating - even if they're stupid. This is why I majored in psychology. I'll blame my dropping out of college on being a Gemini.

I fear my deoderant stops working after a few months of using it. I have to switch brands to continue to smell fresh and lovely. Is that weird? Does anyone else have to do this?

It's 2pm. I should work even if I don't want to. I feel like fainting in my desk chair and telling everyone that I just can't take it any longer. Oh me, oh my...let me go home, I say!

I had the same feeling when albums went out - how could I live without the full-size cover artwork, the lyrics? I hope - and I suspect this is coming - that iPods will soon have those options. Monitor-sized artwork, lyrics, liner notes, all along with those nifty videos.

Maybe you become desensitized to your own deodorant?

I find that with deoderants too. I realised it about a year ago, so I've picked a few brands that I like (about 3) and I use different ones every few days, whichever I feel like.

That's a relief that I'm not some oddball who has to change deoderants every few months.

i've been on a spending spree also. not horribly expensive things, but i have been obsessing over echo & the bunnymen and trying to get all the CDs i don't already have (which included getting their box set 2 weeks ago from ebay - which KICKS ASS!!!) I would like to get some of bowie's stuff someday. ;) I hear hunky dory is great, though I wouldn't know.

I've no motivation to work, hence I'm on livejournal. I did force myself to work a couple minutes ago. I'm pooped.

The same thing happens to me with deodorant. I think it has something to do with the aluminum content. I used this great stuff for a while Mitchum for Women, and it was great. Couple months later I had to change to Dove.

I LOVE my FM transmitter. I have two iPod shuffles now, so I can put "easy-going" music in one and "hardxcore/art rock" music in the other. Currently, while I'm at work no less, I'm listening to my "hardxcore/art rock" shuffle. WEE!

Love the icon.

Do you, by chance, have any recommendations for uber-interesting/life-changing movies? I just watched Requiem for a Dream a week or so ago and now I've got an itch.

Movie recs...hmmm... If you're looking for the best of the best, then I would say:
Dancer in the Dark
Urbania
American Beauty
Amelie
I Stand Alone
Irreversible
What the (Bleep) Do We Know?

i'll have to check out the bowie you are talking about, i'm always looking for new, good, different music than what's already in my universe. and even that i have mostly to thank friends and ex-boyfriends...boy i sure don't venture far by myself.

i'm a "stinky, oily italian" as is my sister and we share the same problem with deodorants. i have to basically buy a different one each time.
not sure if you are just sweaty or stinky...hehe,
kinda a personal question...but a friend swears by some crazy drops she puts on her armpits a few times and then totally stops sweating from her armpits. however, she sweats in other places, some ok, like the palm, some not so, like the crotch. ack! i think i'd rather have sweat rings on my shirts.

i have absolutely no motivation at work these days. then again, i work 2 different p/t jobs. i didn't go in to one today b/c i feel it behooves me and the toy buying world for me to be in on friday (vs. monday) when i feel pressured and motivated to get a lot done for the big monday shipment. i'm useless on mondays so i don't go in. i'm quasi useless the rest of the time and fridays i'm usually a gem. go figure.

I'm a sucker for investigating new music. I spend hours on online stores sampling music, trying to find something that I like.

I've heard about those drops. My boss has used them before, but she also complained about her palms and other areas sweating. I'm with you - I'd rather sweat in my armpits. I can always buy new deoderant if need be.
