I finally figured out how to knit with multiple colors using the stranding method. I was making it far too difficult, apparently. The entire reason that I was so intent on teaching myself how to do this is because I wanted to make this. I bought all the supplies needed over two weeks ago in a fit of optimism. Then, when the realization that I didn't know what I was doing kicked in, I tossed it all in a bag and pouted. So, I've got my supplies back out and I'm about ten rows into the top of the chart. I suspect that I'll have it down by the end of the year. It takes me so long because I rarely knit on weeknights, what with all the reading and writing. So, my knitting is confined to the weekends when I can be lazy and curl up with a blanket for fun with yarn. Once I make some sort of obvious headway, I'll post a progress picture. As it is now, it's just a pieces of green and black yarn.

It's slightly depressing to me that the weather has gotten a great deal colder in the past week. The time is changing on Sunday, and that means that the sun will be setting at 5:30 when I get home from work. Ultimately, this means no more long walks with Ferguson.

I sent the invitations to the company Christmas party out today. It's not even Halloween and I'm sending Christmas party information to people. I might hate myself.

I have done nothing to prepare for the trip home during Thanksgiving. It's still three weeks away, but I'm obsessively organized. Plus, there are many odds and ends that need to be tied up before we leave. My mother is already making plans for when we get there. The usual. Where we will be having dinner each evening. What we should do during the day. My grandfather wants to drag Jason and I to his new cabin in the mountains, but that sucker is a three hour drive away, and I don't exactly want to go that badly, especially after six hours on planes.

I actually added several pages to the exchange fic I've been working on since September. Gah. I have high hopes that I can finish it by the end of this weekend, send it off for a beta next week, and upload it to the fic exchange archive the week after.

My sister has promised to make this for me! I love it. Congrats on teaching yourself to knit with multi strands!

Hee! That is fantastic!

I have a big box in the bedroom filled with Yarn of Shame. Otherwise known as "yarn for projects that I am currently in the middle of, have been in the middle of since the dawn of time, and will probably still be in the middle of when I die." The only things I've ever actually *finished* are baby afghans, and I suspect that's only 'cos baby afghans come with such a specific and dramatic deadline.

YARN OF SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME!!!!
