It's pathetic that my uncle is such a low life. I grew up admiring him. Apparently, I called him "The Million Dollar Man". I have no idea why. However, in the last six years his life has turned into a complete mess, and it is all his fault. He's afraid to call me because I've told him several times that he's responsible for himself, and he's the only one to blame for all of these misfortunes. I'm twenty years younger than him, and I've got more sense and responsibility. The straw that broke the camel's back was when he gave me some church-produced DVDs for Christmas. I handed them back to him and told him to shove them up his ass. He should know better.
I really need to stop this yarn habit. I've bought more.
A soft white yarn with blue, pink, and yellow flecks in a pastel for Caricia's baby's blanket.

A really, really soft light blue yarn with blue, green, and white fringy (it's a technical term) things for my grandmother's throw. I was fortunate in finding a yarn that is color coordinated with her living room. I'm hoping that she'll love it.

And, now for an updated picture of my blue (with white flecks) afghan I've been working on for the last few weeks. I still have several more skeins of yarn to add to it, so it will be wider by the time I finish.

There's uproar in the HG/SS pairing of the Harry Potter fandom. Whispers, a popular archive for that pairing, was handed over to another administrator not long ago. I've never posted anything of mine there, and from what I've seen, it tends to attract the lesser pieces from the fandom because it is unmoderated. This morning the new admin posted a message on a general HG/SS mailing list, telling everyone that she would be uploading fics to a new archive for completed fics only. I took a look and saw my fic up there. My lovely, fifteen-chapter masterpiece was raped and stolen from Ashwinder where I had posted it. It was still credited to me, but I had not received any notice or request about posting it. There were only five fics on there, so I thought I would simply e-mail her and tell her to remove my fic. She never replied, but all hell did break loose on the mailing list. A moderator for one of the archives I do post on mentioned that she knew for a fact that two of the authors had not given permission for their fics to be posted there. She speculated that I hadn't either. Everyone lost their mind this afternoon, and I came back to nearly one hundred messages of bitching over this girl posting fics without prior approval. I believe she's been beaten into submission and has removed the new archive. I never did get an apology.
