Contains spoilers for the last couple seasons of X-Files:

It's nice to be able to wrap it all up, but I really didn't like the last two seasons. Agent Dogget (Mulder's replacement) is a good character, but the other female FBI agent they brought in (Agent Reyes) is rather annoying. Scully is a bit out-of-character and most of her storylines revolve around her pregnancy and the resulting baby. They try to re-write history and tell the audience that the baby is Mulder's through a series of lame flashbacks of a conversation between the two of them in which Scully asks Mulder to donate sperm for her (how totally awkward). Mulder is absent for the majority of the time which was disappointing because a great deal of the appeal of the show (at least to me) was the interaction and verbal battles of intellect/science between he and Scully. There are also quite a lot of episodes in the last season where Scully plays a very minor role or is not present at all, leaving the investigation up to the new agents. In the end Mulder is returned and Scully believes him to be dead. They bury him and months later Scully finds evidence that he may still be alive. They exhume him and find that his body has slowed down and that he is indeed alive. He goes into hiding because his life is in serious danger now that the key contacts (like Cancer Man) are not there to protect him. Scully is left to raise the baby on her own. The baby develops "powers", allowing it to move objects with its mind. The aliens believe the baby to be some sort of turning point in evolution. We are led to believe that they want to kill the baby, but they don't - they just want to ensure the baby's survival once it is born. Messiah baby nonsense happens - blah, blah, blah. Mulder comes out of hiding when Scully and the baby's lives are being threatened. He is arrested and brought to trial before a panel. He's found guilty. Scully's upset. With the help of Dogget, Reyes, and Skinner she breaks Mulder out of prison. They chance the truth and find Cancer Man (all hippied-out) in some Mayan ruins in the southwest. He fortells the end of the earth and total colonization by the aliens in 2012 (I think). After that the army helicopters show up and shoot missles at the ruins. Mulder and Scully escape, but Cancer Man is incinerated. Mulder and Scully run away to go into hiding and live happily ever after and stuff. I found most of it to be silly and unbelievable (even for X-Files). If you're bored and want something to watch, then give it a go, but if you're looking for something really good then it isn't worth your time.
