I am not going to get sick. I am not going to get sick. Yesterday morning I felt the beginnings of a sore throat--just the faint sensation of my lungs not working at full capacity. I ingested copious amounts of orange juice and Emergen-C. I had healthy vegetable soup for dinner. All the things you're supposed to do to make your body happy. This morning it was worse, and the sinus drainage had begun. Have I mentioned how much I hate having a sore throat? I hate it almost as much as I hated that dreadful movie I'm Not There. I added a decongestant/expectorant to my I-refuse-to-get-sick arsenal this morning. I won't even go into my tales of the drug store adventures this morning. I have never heard hacking, grunting, snuffling, and groaning quite like the sounds coming from the woman who insisted on following me around the store during my hunt for yellow nail polish and medicine.
Gambit is going to be in the Wolverine movie. I have had a crush on Gambit since I was ten years old. Actually, he was my first crush. Did I like the boys at my school? No. I liked a thieving Cajan with in a trench coat. Obviously, even at such a young age, my taste in men was refined. I'm not wildly excited about the fellow (Taylor Kitsch) cast to portray my first love, but I will say that he looks quite fetching in this picture. So, I'm rolling with it. Plus, as
falco_conlon pointed out: Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber together. Unf, unf, unf.
And now for a meme that several on my flist have been doing...
Post the first sentence or two from the first blog entry of each month. It's like a skewed retrospective of my year.
January
The fic/art presents for the winter edition of the [info]sshg_exchange are nearly here. Squee! There is a beautiful (and naughty) piece of artwork posted right now just to make everyone eager for more.
February
I still love Kiva.org. I just contributed to a loan for a gentleman from Lebanon named Alindi. He sells produce on the go from the back of his truck.
March
Spring! It was seventy degrees today. Ferguson and I walked to the park, which is almost four miles, round trip.
April
I received my audio CDs of the Colloquial Welsh course I am determined to get myself through. I finished all the work piled up on my desk.
May
I bought too many books at the used bookstore today. I need to rearrange my shelves because they are in disarray, and I my organizational tendencies are crying out for mercy.
June
I commandeered a book of Jason's that he hasn't got around to reading just yet. It is a collection of four Philip K. Dick novels, three of which I haven't read before.
July
I swear I don't have a daddy complex, but there is this incredibly attractive (and bald) man in his 50's that runs at the park I've been going to lately.
August
Jason and I are into some sort of major cleaning-out extravaganza. We're getting rid of stuff we no longer need or use.
September
I haven't really walked or jogged for enjoyment or exercise in about three weeks. With all the craziness going on at the old apartment and preparing for the move, I just wasn't in the mood to do much of anything else.
October
The mess that the government has made of the economy makes my head hurt.
November
I'm in heaven. Because of the limited counter space at the old apartment, I did not have a coffee maker. I'm one of those people who likes to drink coffee at night around seven or eight o'clock.
December
Yeah... I totally bought a treadmill. My excuses are many.
