Fuck me.
Damien Rice's forthcoming album (9) is slated for a November release. Aiieeeeee!!!!!!!! My excitement cannot properly be expressed in words. I've actually heard at least two of the songs on the track listing because I'm a nut. I downloaded several rarities from the net. Two of my favorites actually became tracks on this new album. The U.K. is getting the damn thing on the 6th, but Road Records in Ireland will ship to the U.S. and promises to send them out on the 2nd of November. The U.S. release date isn't until the 14th. Boo.
I've heard "9 Crimes" before, and I always wished for a better copy of it because the rarity that was available for download was horribly low in volume. My wish has been answered. It's the first single off 9. You can stream it here Simply click on the Listen Now text at the top. Amazing, yes? I  Lisa Hannigan. I wish I had her voice.
A rough version of "Me, My Yoke and I" was available on this fansite. Even though it has been there for well over two years, it seems that they've been asked to remove it due to the song being included on the new album. I still have my copy, but not with me. If there is interest, I will upload it for whomever would like to hear. However, while you're at that fansite, I highly recommend listening to "The Professor". It's another one of my favorites.
:happy dance:
