Wow. I'm just going to stay in my office today. There are personal problems abound in this office.
Payroll girl has broken up with her boyfriend. They've been together a bit longer than Jason and I. They have a house (mortgage - eek) and child together. She unloaded on me this morning as soon as I walked in the door. He's spending money like mad and she came home yesterday to a Payday Loan notice taped to her door. It informed them that he's late on the payment. She didn't even know about this loan and it is months old. He's done this a couple times before, but she's very touchy about it now because of the house and the kid and the massive amounts of bills. She doesn't have two grand to pay it off and the mortgage for the house is under her boyfriend's name. She's about fifteen minutes from exploding into hysterics even though she's trying to keep it under control. She's moved into the spare bedroom and has told him that she's officially done with him. I believe she and the baby are moving out.
Our receptionist is the owner's daughter. They're in the midst of a huge fight. The daughter was dating a loser who made all her decisions for her - told her what to eat, where to go, who to talk to, what classes to take each semester, when to go to bed, etc. A real class act, I'm sure. I've only met him twice, but he turned me off right away. Anyway, just before the daugther started working here she moved in with this boyfriend and spiraled down into the abyss of no friends because he wouldn't let her talk to anyone. Elenore, my boss and her mother, talked her out of the relationship and gave her a job working here as an attempt to keep an eye on her.
So, the daughter moved into an apartment with an old friend of hers and shaped up last fall. Her mother pays for the rent and utilities at the apartment, plus she gives her spending money each month for food, clothes, whatever. The daughter, Kim, has started dating this guy again and Elenore isn't too happy about it. Kim came in yesterday and told Elenore how much her electric bill was and Elenore told her that she could pay it herself if she was going to date "the devil". Kim began sobbing and saying that her mother was punishing her for being with the person she loved. Basically, it was drama out the ass. Kim told Elenore that she was just going to find a new job and Elenore told her to let me know if she's leaving so I can place an ad in the paper for a receptionist. I was nearly jumping with glee because I'd love to get someone else in here to do that job.
Oh, and my avatar is Ferguson in his sweater because he's the cutest dog ever.
