I watched Buffalo 66 on Friday night. It was suprisingly and delightfully wonderful. I adore Vincent Gallo now. I rented it without the knowledge that a large portion of the movie was comedy. It was a pleasant treat. The scene in the photo booth was perfect. "We are spanning time." I want to use that in conversation one day...spanning time, we are spanning time. Or his view on girls..."There's nobody that I like because girls stink. They stink. They're evil. And they're all bad. All of them. They're backstabbers. Like you."
The other two movies I rented weren't so hot. Blood had an interesting concept, but it was dry and bland. Code 46 was boring. The characters were one-dimensional, the romance was unbelievable, and the plot was a rehash of all of the 1984-influenced sci-fi films. Both of them failed to impressed me.
Finished reading The Demon. Finally. Glad I can put it away. I highly doubt I'll pick it back up again unless it is far down the line. Too uncomfortable for me.
I'm trying to heal my soul by listening to Nick Cave. "God Is In the House" makes me want to cry. He's such a beautiful man. I tend to have a more emotional response to guys that I choose to have a crush on. I couldn't care less about Brad Pitt or whoever the flavor of the month is. They're all the same to me. I prefer someone like Nick Cave, Elvis Costello, Damien Rice, Ray LaMontagne. I find them much more attractive than any male model out there. This is one of the many things that point to my inability to carry on traditional girl-talk. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate an attractive man, but if given a choice...well, I'd choose Nick Cave. Hands down.
