My jaw hurts so much from gritting my teeth in frustration and annoyance. I was down with sympathizing with Jason's family yesterday. Today, not so much. His mother and grandmother are just so damn annoying. They are fully and completely back to their old selves. I never thought the day would come when I'd be on his sister's side. His sister and I have virtually nothing in common, though she tries to make it seem like she's all about what I'm about when she's around me. (She's really about social situations and beer.)

Anyway, fuck. They want a limo to take us to the cemetery. I'm not riding in limo with those crazies. I told them all that they could ride in the limo and I'd follow. Jason wants to ride with me. Jason's sister wants to ride with me. Which leaves three people in a limo that seats seven or eight comfortably. They also want a police escort. I almost blurted out, "You're fucking kidding, right?" No one expects more than thirty people at the funeral.

Oh, and the flippin' rosary. I have to go to a rosary. I hate the Catholic church. I don't pray. I don't give a flying crap about any of that, but I'm going because I'm trying to be a good girlfriend. Jason is going to hate it. And I'm going to hate it. Is it considered rude to read a book while they prattle on and on and on? Jason almost lost his head today when his mother informed him that he'd be reading a passage from the Bible at the mass (apparently, that's what Catholics call a funeral). I believe his response was: "What? You want me to read something religious? No fucking way. I'll go up there and talk about grandpa, but I'm not reading some stupid Bible passage." His mom is all hurt now. I don't know why. It wasn't like church or religion played a significant part in his grandfather's life. None of them even go to church. I don't know what all this shit about rosaries and funerals and prayer cards and Virgin Marys on casket lids is about. It's crazy talk, man.

Oh, and Caricia and I are going to be progressive. We've been volunteered as pallbearers due to a severe shortage of able-bodied man. Although, I think you just roll the little casket along now. There isn't any of that heavy-lifting stuff involved.
