Before my Nee Nee died, I asked her about the Masons after watching some movie with a "Masons are killers!" theme. She was mystified, but told me that there was a secret sign, or handshake or something.
She was big in the Eastern Star and my granddad was a Mason. They held lots of important positions, and I never saw them or the other oldsters conspiring. There were lots of potlucks and covered dish suppers though.
