^ Link to a lovely song by Adam Cohen, his son. Band is Low Millions, although I believe Adam has done some solo stuff as well. I can't keep up with everything I want to get. My funds and time run low frequently.

I got a used book in the mail today that I've been on the look-out for. The Search for Mallory & Irvine. It's about Mallory's failed (or at least we assume) attempt to climb Mt. Everest. The initial spark of interest was from House of Leaves. There is quite a bit in there about both Mallory and Hilary's climbs. Just enough to create an itch for more knowledge about it.

As much as I hate social events, my presence at a retirement party is required this weekend. And poof! my Saturday all but disappears. Being overly nice doesn't pay off in the end because I've been recruited to pick up the food and bring it to the party along with ten bags of ice. I hate outdoor events. I shouldn't be so negative about it. It'll be semi-fun. I think.

Re: the party - bring the food, drop off the ice, eat a little and have 2 cups of (whatever - I know you're not a drinker), then, poof! Your Saturday returns to you :)
