::grumble, grumble, grumble:: It's too early in the morning to deal with the histrionics in this office. I'm in an eff it sort of mood. Some random person called this morning and said he had heard the company is shutting down, and then he said he heard we were selling equipment. I told him I had no idea what he was talking about, even if I do. As far as I know, though, we aren't selling any equipment yet. The shutting down of the company isn't even official. And to top it all off, I have to go to lunch with my co-workers today. I really, really, really don't want to go. Really.

Because I felt like doing nothing at all, I found music--some old, some new.

Is Dan Auerbach channeling Johnny Jenkins or what? Damn.

Jenny Lewis, why are you so lovely? We're so different, yet I understand everything you're saying. Singing?

I obviously have a love of songs named "Hazel". Junior Boys keeping me sane until I get can some new Private. (Thomas Troelson, get your ass in the studio and put out a new Private record!)

I'm not sure I can sum up the brilliance of this song in a couple sentences. Simply put, it's gorgeous and so bittersweet.

Antony has a unique and beautiful voice that offers such comfort. Once you've heard him sing, you'll never forget him.

I'm sure I've posted about Mew before, but they are one of my dearest, most favorite of bands. Their music just... transcends. The moment starting at 2:43 is one of the most gorgeous things I've ever heard. You won't even need to watch the clock; you'll know it when you hear it.

This song comes from an album called For Emma, Forever Ago. Justin Vernon wrote and recorded it alone while holed up in his father's remote cabin in Wisconsin. The album title is one of my all-time favorites, and this particular song is beautiful.
