Whimpie

In a moment of (non) genius, I decided to stretch the muscles in my back after a long day sitting in front of my computer at the office. I did my usual stretches, and I may have been a bit over exuberant twisting. I have no idea what muscle I've pulled (strained?) because some of your back muscles wrap around your sides, but I have some crazy sharp pains around the bottom of my left ribcage when I breathe deeply or move the wrong way. Ouch. I rarely ever hurt myself or get sick, and when I do I get so annoyed. I had to forgo my daily walk this evening because of the evil!pain.

Searching one's symptoms on the internet can only lead to hypochondria. The internet has diagnosed me with many things including kidney stones, a cracked rib, and pleurisy. No, I'm confident I don't have any of those.

The heating pad and aspirin only go so far in making me forget that my muscles hate me. Get well soon, muscles.

Hmm...you could have pinched a nerve maybe between your ribs? I hope it goes away quickly for you!

Possibly your latissimus dorsi? I know I over-stretch that muscle often while twisting, resulting in the mentioned pain under my rib cage. And it is a muscle that connects your back to your anterior torso.

Most likely, a night of sleep will cure you. If not, you have a problem. Probably cancer or something. :P

That must have been what it was. It felt perfectly fine on Saturday morning, but after I had been up for a few minutes, I felt the ache again, though not as badly as on Friday. It has hardly bothered me today, so I should be back to 100% on Monday. Damn muscles and their tender ways.
