I didn't lick the autograph, but I thought about it. The only reason I refrained was a fear of ruining the beautiful silver ink. Oh my God, Greg Dulli touched my CD insert.



The poster arrived in the mail yesterday. The top of it has the usual info about The Twilight Singers being on tour with Jeff Klein and Afterhours. The lower right corner is numbered - 60 of 75. It's so lovely hanging on my wall in its brand new frame.

Male di miele!!!

I know it's Italian, but I have no idea what it means. There's a song by Afterhours called "Male di Miele". That's actually one of the bands listed at the top of the poster as touring with The Twilight Singers. The vocalist for Afterhours is a good friend of Greg Dulli's, and Greg actually produced one of their albums. Anyway, what exactly does it mean in the context of the poster?

Nothing, it's just the only song I know by Afterhours. It's quite cool, actually.

Male di miele literally means, um, something like 'evil of honey' or possibly 'honeyache'. I've never been completely clear on the issue; but it's still a cool song. Seems they've made it in English now...

Greg Dulli is certainly pushing Afterhours, but I think that his fans have been extremely receptive to the band. I have their latest album which is in English. I just have to go back and pick up their previous stuff, which is a bit harder to find around these parts. Internet shopping, you are my friend. I've actually looked up the translation for "male di miele" myself and got "badly of honey" or something along the lines of what you said. It made no sense to me, so I gave up on finding any sort of accurate translation.
