Free Handmade Hats for You?

I'm working on this monster-huge knitting project. One day it will be a gorgeous long-sleeve shirt inspired by Edwardian tea gowns. Right now it's a pile of yarn with only six inches of the bottom hem knitted. I get that sinking feeling when I look at it.

To quench my desire to knit, but not beat myself over the head with the current project, I'm offering to make hats for anyone who wants one. For free, no strings attached. So, if you'd like a hand-knit hat clicky on the cut.

All I ask is that you pick from one of the patterns below. They are all something I've done before or am familiar with, so it won't tax my brain too much. Basically, this means I can knit them while I'm watching movies without constantly referring to a chart or pattern.

Ribbed
Cables
Beanie
Rolled Brim
Earflap
'Monk'

I'll also need to know the color(s) you prefer. You can even send me a link to a picture of that color, and I'll try to match it as closely as possible. Also, clue me in if you think you have an abnormally large head. You probably don't unless you have difficulty putting on a baseball cap, but if you do then tell me so I an adjust.

Like I said, I'm not asking for money for any hats I make. This is just a way to keep myself knitting without drowning in hats made for myself. Once I get your hat done, I'll send you a private message to get your mailing address.

So, if you want one, just leave me a comment with the style and color(s). Oh, and I'm going to screen the comments in this entry for privacy's sake. Please, let me make you a hat. I'm good at it, I swear. :-)

Don't suppose you've ever knit a Calorimetry (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/calorimetry) or a Hannah (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hannah-4)? :P

I'd love a cabled hat, though, in burgundy or green. <3

I'd be happy to knit a calorimetry for you if that's what you want. I've never done one before, but the pattern seems super simple. Do you want it in burgundy or green, too?

Hi hun *hugs*

I'd love an earflap with pompoms in a blonde colour (sort of like a golden labrador)please...but you'd have to mail it to the UK (I'd be happy to re-imburse the postage of course. Just tell me how :))

If it's too much then don't do it - tell me how much it is and I'll get it to you first before you send it. If it's too complicated, then just forget I asked :D

I'd be happy to make you an earflap hat with a pompom on the top. I'm doing something similar for someone else, so it's no trouble. Don't worry about the postage. I don't think it will be much more to send the hat to the UK. Yarn doesn't weight all that much, after all. I'll send you a private message once I get it knitted. :-)
