Mystery E-Mail?

I got the oddest e-mail this evening. I have no idea who it is from, but I nearly deleted it without reading it. One of you didn't happen to go all secretive and weird on me, right?

Sworn Brother of the Night's Watch, ever faithful. When he was born they named him for a hero

There is truth in it.

Sworn Brother of the Night's Watch refers to George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. I've never read this series and have little to no knowledge of it. I do, however, own the first two novels and plan on reading them this year. I don't think I have ever mentioned having the novels on my blog or anywhere else on the internet for that matter. I believe I have very briefly spoken to [livejournal.com profile] fredericks about it through LJ comments on her journal (or maybe mine), but the conversation was minimal. I found it odd that someone would send me such an enigmatic e-mail with such odd wording about an aspect of a series of novels I own but know nothing about. I only figured out the source after a Google search.

I did respond back with a question as to why I was sent a vague reference to A Song of Ice and Fire, but have not received an answer.

How weird...

Strange. But it has reminded you of Ice and Fire!

Weirdly freakish...and strange too.
