Fannish Odds and Ends

I finished watching the remainder of the Ghost in the Shell (series/movies). I highly recommend it to anyone with a brain and the desire to use it. The series itself was so tight that missing an episode or zoning out for a few minutes will throw you into the land of I-have-no-idea-what-is-going-on. Beyond that, I have a crush on Batou. It's the tortured, unrequited love thing that he's got going on. I'm a sucker.

We started watching Deadwood last night. So far, I love it. They all have potty mouths! Yay! I've never heard the word 'cocksucker' used so many times in a mere fifty-seven minutes. Plus, Calamity Jane is so badass that I'm jealous.

Saturday morning was spent at the used bookstore. Unfortunately, they didn't have everything I wanted, and I splurged at Borders. I always say I'm not going to buy anything else from Borders, but I'm a weak, weak person. I found Coraline by Neil Gaiman as the used bookstore, and I finished it on Saturday night. It was a childrens book; I'm not that speedy of a reader. It was quite satisfying, though. Very creepy and odd. If I were seven, I'd be completely freaked out. I also got Gaiman's Neverwhere, which I'm nearly halfway finished with. It's very good, and I look forward to seeing the BBC mini of it once I'm finished reading. And, seeing as how I'm on a Neil Gaiman kick, I bought Interworld as well.

I'm nearly finished with Alan Moore's V for Vendetta. It is so disgustingly good that I can't stand it. Most of the ways in which it differs from the movie actually make the graphic novel better. Although, I do like movie!Finch a bit more. How can I deny the wonderfulness that is Stephen Rea?

Has anyone had any experience with pet health insurance? I was looking at a couple difference companies to see if it would be beneficial to pay the monthly or yearly fee to cover Ferguson. There is so much legal mumbo-jumbo and details on what they cover and exactly how much they will cover that I feel like throwing my hands up. Is it really worth it?

I am going to STRANGLE the receptionist if she doesn't stop calling me. Seriously. I've never met a more clingy and needy person in my entire life.
