My Used Book Addiction

I finished Sense and Sensibility on Friday. I spent Saturday with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but I still have about 200 more pages to plow through before it is completed. I started Wuthering Heights today because the temperature dropped into the low 70s and the breeze was crisp. I sat outside on the patio and read the first few chapters. I'm in love with it already. The copy I have is incredibly old and the pages are a bit brittle. I like to turn down the corner of the page to mark my place, but when I did that with Wuthering Heights, the corner fell off. It smells lovely though, like the most delicious of old books. Nothing beats that smell.

Not that anyone cares, but I made another trip to the used bookstore because I've entered one of my more rabid states when it comes to reading. I ended up leaving with Anna Karenina, The Picture of Dorian Grey/The Importance of Being Ernest, Ender's Game, Great Expectations, and Pride and Prejudice. Then I turned around this evening and ordered two other used books online - Northanger Abbey and The House of Mirth. Books excite me greatly. I need to go buy another bookshelf for the hall.

I was in a tank top and a pair of panties when someone knocked on the door this morning. Luckily I found a blanket to wrap myself in before Jason opened the door to reveal his mother. She had been trying to call my cell, but I had not turned it on because I didn't want to talk to anyone. So instead of waiting to talk to him, she hunted us down. Nice. This is why I don't turn my phone on.

Watched Run Lola Run this weekend. It was good, but not amazingly fantastic. The techno music left something to be desired. eXistenZ was viewed on Friday night because Jason had not seen it. I watched it years ago and wasn't all that impressed. I do like Cronenburg and the idea was fantastic, but the actual execution of it wasn't all that hot. And despite liking Jennifer Jason Leigh, I thought she sucked as a game designer. The last movie on the list for this past weekend was My Life With Morrissey. The acting was horrible, but the oddness of the movie and the main character's descent into fangirly madness made up for the less-than-stellar acting ability.
