The Compliment of Rational Opposition
"Elinor agreed to it all, for she did not think he deserved the compliment of rational opposition."
The quote above is from Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. I came across it last night as I was reading and it struck me as incredibly funny and a line right out of my brain. I find myself in Elinor's position more times than not. I nod and agree with many people just because the topic of discussion is of no consequence to me and that person is so irrational and clueless that I don't wish to waste my brain power in a real discussion with him/her.
I'm torn. My lunch hour is only a mere 60 minutes. I can do one of two things during that time tomorrow: (a) get a delicious bagel with fresh lemonade and pick up a bag of soil with a decorative pot for repotting a pothos at work or (b) browse my most favorite used book store for some titles I've been looking for. I'm leaning toward the bagel/lemonade/repotting option just because it's a homemade bagel and I haven't had one from there in weeks. Plus, I have all weekend to do the book store thing and the bagel place isn't open on the weekends. Priorities.
And while I'm talking food - Take 5 is probably the best candy bar EVER. I could eat them until I become sick.
