A gaggle of these little guys (gals) hang out in the basin beside my apartment. When I started feeding the birds, they hurried up the hill and partook of the food as well. I rarely see them fly, but I know they can. They prefer walking around on the ground and running away when something scares them. They've taken to sitting on my porch and waiting for the food to drop down. What are they? I think they are quail. They run in packs, but two of them have taken a special liking to my porch. They aren't as dramatically-colored as the pictures of quail on the net, but they do have little whatchamacallits on the top of their heads.

Jason says he's going to shave off all of his facial hair. We'll see how that goes.

Ferguson and I just got back from our walk. I brought the camera to take pictures of the ridiculous snow on the Sandia Mountains in effin' mid-April. The weather is nice today--upper 50s with sun. It's due to climb up to the mid-60s later this afternoon.

On the way back to the apartment, we saw this huge crow in the parking lot of the grocery store. He flew off just as I snapped the picture.

I have a myriad of veggies left over from our produce box this week. It looks like we're having pasta with zucchini, asparagus, and kale for dinner.

I'm working on a top secret knitting project that is going to be Doctor Who related and made of complete awesome. Jason is super excited about it.

They are some variety of quail, not sure what sort.

last time someone i was dating shaved off all of his facial hair, it freaked me out so much because he looked like such a different person that i told him to stay away for a week until it grew back! haha! Rob's now frightened to do try it, but says that maybe sometime when we're in a big fight and he doesn't want me anywhere near him anyways :-P

I got Emma's hat today. It's absolutely perfect and adorable! She had pigtails in today so it looked silly on her head, but we're taking a duo picture for you to show you how we look :) The tag was so cute...she was like 'Hey that says my name'! Thanks again!

I'm glad she liked it! I found the tags in the bottom of my coat closet from Christmas, and I thought she would get a kick out of it being made especially for her. Little girls love that sort of thing. :-)

Jason looks hilarious without his facial hair. He had me take pictures of it. I don't think he's going to continue to shave it off, but he did want to see what it looked like.

Looks like a quail to me, too. None of the quail we have up here are particularly dramatically colored.

Have you ever been to WhatBird (http://whatbird.com/)? It is awesome for figuring out what's in your yard.

That last pic with the crow is go-o-orgeous. Not that I'm partial. ;)
